I too struggled with this in my divorce. I too asked for forgiveness, I too received it but I too beat myself up over it for quite some time. Coming from the background I came from (you know what I mean) I was very unforgiving of myself as well. But boy did it feel great when I finally realized the freedom in letting that go just like God did. Also I learned that God wanted me to come to him with my failures. He craves for me to to that. That was not something I learned in Jr. High or High School. I'm glad I finally learned it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and thanks for your honesty.

Hey Bro,

The good news is we serve the God of second chances...even third and fourths. Yes, there are consequences, but these too can be a means of grace to keep us humble and dependent. Such scars and wounds can be used to teach others as well.

Don't sell your self short (or God for that matter!) with false humility or a martyr complex...you are a child of God and a co-heir with Christ and a broken sinner like the rest of us!

The Pharisees and the rest of the hard-hearted crowd that refuse to forgive and share the grace they have so freely received are always going to be with us. My concern is that I never become one of them!

Keep writing...and keep trusting...and keep loving...you still have MUCH left to give!
